MMEmail, MMScript, SMTPit 4, and more updates

A recent comment reminds me that it is difficult for the general public to know what is going on behind the scenes at CNS Plug-ins, so following is an update on several of our pending plug-ins...

Please note, we do not estimate when a plug-in will be released. We have found that no matter how accurate we think we are on a release date, we tend to always get it wrong. Part of the "problem" is we do not want to let in-superior products out the door. So we tweak and fix and locate bugs and update examples until we think we've got the very best product that we can release at that point. Then when we do release the product we find all sorts of ways we could have improved anyway.

As for abandoning products..... There has only been one plug-in in our history that we have decided not to work with which is SPEAKit which was only for Windows, but we have thrown around a few ideas for updating it too. We are in the works of creating a replacement for SAVEit which should be out pretty soon. We are actually at a place right now to start releasing several products once we get example databases and documentation written.

Below is a bullet list of several of the products we are currently working on:

  • Mystery Plug-in: Keep an eye on our CNS website for a very cool new plug-in in the next few weeks. I am not at liberty to announce any details just yet, but this plug-in will make your mouth drop!

  • MMEmail: (SMTPit's little brother) This plug-in is just about done and we will begin the example database and documentation shortly.

  • SMTPit: This plug-in is done and we will begin the example database and documentation in the next few weeks.

  • MMScript: This plug-in was done, then we thought of some new features that we want to add before release. These new features are not particularly difficult to add, we just need to find time to add them. We will then need to create the example database and documentation. A preview version of MMScript is available on Jake's blog. (There's a link to Jake's blog on the right of this page.)

  • Other new plug-ins..... We are always thinking and coming up with great ideas for plug-ins, and now is no exception. We have many many ideas and hope to bring several of them to the table in the coming months.

If you have any questions or comments about any of the proceeding, feel free to leave a comment here. You can also contact CNS via the contact page.
